Our system is deeply rooted in traditional Tae Kwon-Do, a Korean martial art. Tae Kwon-Do is one of the most popular martial arts in the world today and is known for its powerful and dynamic kicks and strikes, as well as it’s explosive board and brick breaking demonstrations. It was originally developed as a military fighting art and remains an effective method of self defense and unarmed combat taught to military personnel around the world, including American Military Forces.
While most people know Tae Kwon-Do because of it’s incredible kicking techniques, many people do not realize that it also contains take-downs and throws, joint locks, self defense against weapons, and much more. This is because over the years, whether by choice or lack of knowledge, many schools have stopped teaching these elements and focused on the sport/competitive nature of our art. At our schools we teach Tae Kwon-Do as it was originally intended, a complete martial arts system that strengthens the mind, body and spirit.
In addition to traditional Tae Kwon-Do, our program includes techniques and concepts from Muay Thai Kickboxing, Western Boxing, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, XMA (Extreme Martial Arts), Japanese Kobudo and more. By taking the best of what these arts have to offer and teaching them as part of a comprehensive and exciting curriculum, our Black Belts are some of the most well-rounded martial artists in the world!
But our programs are about more than just kicking and punching, they are about self-improvement. Our students learn Leadership and Character Development skills that help them to succeed in all areas of their lives.
